Secondary School Teacher

As part of information technology services for York Region District School Board I was servicing 6 schools and thousands of clients.

In 1999, taking advantage of any available time, I physically assembled a fully functional radio station (studio, music scheduling system, automation system, computer network, streaming server, and transmission plant) and co-created a grade 12 radio broadcasting course at Hodan Nalayeh Secondary School (formerly Vaughan Secondary School).

A few years later I was accepted to the faculty of education at Queen’s University.

After completing full time studies I began teaching 9th-12th grades at Middlefield Collegiate Institute. Students created personal websites (online portfolios) to showcase and store their work. All course assignments, exemplars and rubrics were online for students, peers and parents.
